ISSUES CLOSE TO MY HEART
Standing up for our Public Schools and Teachers
This is a critical time to stand up for public education. Last session, multiple bills to divert public dollars to private schools were introduced.
I’m a product of Fargo Public Schools, and my mom, Marcy, taught music and art in FPS schools until she retired in 2018.
Lowering Costs for North Dakotans, not out-of-state corporations and billionaires
When North Dakota’s fiscal outlook is uncertain, tax relief should be aimed at you, not out-of-state corporations.
We need a more watchful eye on data centers and artificial intelligence. You and I shouldn’t be paying more in sales tax than data centers—let’s end the sales tax break for them.
Local decision makers shouldn’t be forced into Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) if they want to know what’s coming to their community.
Fighting for affordable, accessible, quality healthcare
Health care and mental health care are issues that are deeply personal for me. Losing my husband, Erik, opened my eyes to how insufficient our approach to suicide prevention is. The legislature has not had the appetite to fund it in the past, but I hope we can change that next session. North Dakotans are staring down a health care crisis that is already impacting thousands–adding to the overwhelming burden of drug prices, shuttered health care facilities, and accessibility issues that our friends, our neighbors, ourselves, and our loved ones face.
